Throughout her career, Kayla noticed the same patterns over and over again. Companies often believed they had a hiring problem, when the real challenge was defining what the business actually needed. During the search, one role would turn into two. A company would realize they needed a leader instead of an individual contributor—or vice versa. Other times, months of interviews revealed that the role itself had never been clearly defined.
